Today on 16 June is the shaheedi Diwas of Guru Arjan Dev Singh Ji. Guru Arjan Dev Singh ji was the fifth Guru of Sikh. He was the son of Bhai jetha who later became the Guru Ramdas the 4th Guru of Sikh and his mother was Mata Bani the daughter of Guru Amar Das the third Guru of Sikh.
He was the first Guru to born into Sikh family. He completed the construction of Darbar Sahib after fourth group found the town and built the pool. He led the Sikhism for the the quarter of the century. He also reorganized the masand system by suggesting that if possible the Sikh will donate one-tenth of their income; goods or services to the Sikh organisation (dasvand).
The masand not only collected this funds but also taught the things about the Sikhism to the people and also settle several disputes. Dasvand also financed the temples; gurudwaras and langars. Guru Arjan Dev Singh Ji has one son Hargobind Singh ji who later became the sixth Guru of Sikh.
He respect all the religions and help everybody . But the Mughal emperor Jahangir did not these things and also not like guru Ji because he fight for India's freedom. Jahangir force Guru Arjan Dev Singh Ji to convert into Islam otherwise he will give them severe punishment and a very painful death to Guru Arjan Dev Singh Ji .
But the Guru Arjan Dev Singh Ji refused To convert into to Islam so the Jahangir start torturing Guru Arjan Dev Singh Ji and in last he tried his best to convert Guru Arjan Dev Singh Ji to Islam but he cannot do it.
So he decided to kill him so he force Guru Arjan Dev Singh Ji to sit on the large hot fry pan and Guru Arjan Dev Singh Ji left the world there only. So today we will celebrate the Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Arjan Dev Singh Ji the fifth Guru of Sikh.
